Christian James Meredith Easy round with a possible trick (and a possible collection of mistakes) thrown in.

Christian James Meredith To the Swedes and other Northern-European-Linguistically-Focussed chaps, you might wanna leave this one to the less-English/Germanic-experienced, I reckon that'll be more interesting at least.
I say that as sadistically as possible of course.
I say that as sadistically as possible of course.
Arief Wibowo Crīsten is either Christian (which in turn is either a common male name or religion) or CJM in specific...
Ic probably means I/me. If I am correct, eom=am.
I am so tired that my bed [mīnum] [būtan] [ān] [gōdum] [frægne] to sleep [gān] [mōte]. So said? Christian/CJM.
And finally, my Indonesian brain forces me to type this:
mīnum = drink

Arief Wibowo That's all for me today, I am soooo tired myself after retagging all rounds, and now my bed might minum me (whatever that means)
(yes, all data is back to pre-accident state, Christian James Meredith is again #1 )

Anna Robbins Working off what Arief has put up there, "gōdum" is "good"....?
"I am so tired that I"...
I instinctively assume that "beddum mīnum" is "my bed", but it probably isn't the case.
"and good(?)" something "to sleep" something else.
"So says Christian."

Anna Robbins Correction on my part.... "gōdum" seems to be a verb, so "beddum" must also be a verb.
"an gōdum frægne tō slæpan" = and go early(?) to sleep ?
"an gōdum frægne tō slæpan" = and go early(?) to sleep ?
Christian James Meredith Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström haha sorry. Think of it like us resting you while you charge up for another challenge round
WE NEED YOU IN TOP SHAPE SOLDIER.
WE NEED YOU IN TOP SHAPE SOLDIER.
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström It's a good choice of language. ^^ But Swedish + English makes it fairly easy.
Christian James Meredith Anna Robbins, Arief Wibowo:
I am so tired that I = correct
beddum mīnum = not verbs at all. They're inflected adjective + noun (my bed = correct)
to sleep = correct
good = correct
I thought someone would get "ān" already, so that was unintentionally deceptive eh!
As for frægne, būtan, these I thought would cause some trouble, so I'm glad they did
Here's a tip for frægne: "in Australia, it's sunnan*dæg*". (note: this is a phonological tip, not semantical!)

Christian James Meredith And yeah Vic I thought you'd be able to get it too easily with your linguistic background. All you need to know is English and one of the Scandy languages and you can practically say you have a working knowledge of Old English
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Welcome back Maria
My attempt: Im so tired that I'm in bed without a good question to sleep. So say Christian.
My attempt: Im so tired that I'm in bed without a good question to sleep. So say Christian.
Дайте Нефть Из Баку "I am so tired that I want to go to sleep in my bed without a good question. So says Christian."
Anna Robbins For some reason, I overlooked Swedish and German cognates. I think Maria and Vincensiu have gotten to it first
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Oh yeah! Of course Sunday!! My Gosh... how stupid I am for not realising that!
Christian James Meredith Dayte (whom I can't tag) has the most correct answer so far. Just two bits I'm a bit iffy one, one being my bed's relation to my actions, and one being the trick I used
Anna Robbins "I am so tired that I would like to go to sleep in my bed without a good question. So says Christian."
There's another go... I'm thinking maybe one of the iffy parts is the "want to go"... if it's as in German, I'm guessing a better translation would be, "would like to go"....?

Christian James Meredith Well the German cognate to mōtan shouldn't be "want", the German cognate has the same meaning as modern English in this regard.
However 3 sound changes make the German word, and one grammatical change makes the Modern English word look a bit different but similar to each other.

Anna Robbins "I am so tired that I must go to sleep in my bed without a good question. So says Christian."
Maria Weidner I am so tired that i'd like to go to my bed to sleep without a good question. So says Christian. ?
Christian James Meredith Maria Weidner aaah I see where you're tripping up. Nup, that ch would be h in Old English (and pronounced, not silent).
Christian James Meredith OK, so Maria Weidner has something right that Anna Robbins doesn't and Anna has something right that Maria doesn't but both are missing something only Vincensiu Denis has alluded to
Christian James Meredith Maria Weidner actually that is a valid translation but not the intended meaning. To be honest I'm not sure how the meaning works there Bloody Anglo-Saxons making this hard for their descendants
Christian James Meredith But anyway there's another meaning in addition to "may" that Anna recently tried.
Anna Robbins Hmm... rearranging a little....
"I am so tired that I must go to bed without a good question to sleep on. So says Christian."
No idea what I'm even saying... I'm at that point of tiredness where I might as well go to sleep without a good question, too.

Christian James Meredith Anna Robbins that's very good, but the "on" bit is a bit pointless (the word order of Old English is more flexible, so feel free to arrange some phrases here and make it make more sense to you, just try to avoid adding words like "on" - unless you've mistaken "an" for that in which case you've already translated it )
Now just the "so says Christian" part.
Now just the "so says Christian" part.
Christian James Meredith Arief Wibowo (also a hint on the last bit):
"So say we all" in Old English would be "Swā secgaþ wē eall"
"So say we all" in Old English would be "Swā secgaþ wē eall"
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Wow, just few hours in dreamland and the game has progressed quite far....
Christian James Meredith Stjälcuri Vincensiu, stjälcuri!
Arief Wibowo we may need a glossary of these common terms on the site xD
Arief Wibowo we may need a glossary of these common terms on the site xD
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter according to some internet sources, secge can be subjunctive or first person singular
"I am so tired that I must go to bed to sleep without a good question"', So I say: Christian
"I am so tired that I must go to bed to sleep without a good question"', So I say: Christian
Christian James Meredith Vincensiu, you've made me a very happy man xD
But you've forgotten the "my" next to the bed! Quickly, put it in!

Arief Wibowo Congratulations, Vincensiu Denis the VinRAR
(this reminds me, a more pressing update is: to show attachment/image in our website -- I was confused when I saw Christian James Meredith sagaþ only "Vincensiu Denis" in Live page)

Christian James Meredith And Arief, Christian James Meredith *sægde*
As for Vinrar, I say this should be a term for winners in Sveindo (while conquerors/dictators are called Viktators).
And haha, Vincensiu you finally get your Auslan round

Arief Wibowo Christian James Meredith, thanks, I realized I copy-pasted from wrong tense
I think Vincensiu Denis is in toilet now, recording

Marius Vincenzii Dennischter haha, Arief bikin malu aja [[blushingsmile]]
I woke up not long ago, so still gotta do some tidying up

Arief Wibowo Okay, I just tweaked our website to enable this:
Conquerors/dictators shall be defined as those who has Rating < Difficulty...
And we have about 10 dictators

Marius Vincenzii Dennischter I gave up with Auslan, uploading the video takes too long :S
will save it for the next round if I win (again).
will save it for the next round if I win (again).
Arief Wibowo Vincensiu Denis, perhaps send it to your computer first, use free apps like XMediaRecode to convert it to mp4 *without* audio before uploading.
I processed your last Auslan round like that, and the resulting file is less than 3 MB

Christian James Meredith Arief Wibowo why not call them Viktators? Or can only Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström be a Viktator? Or is it like highlander? xD
Christian James Meredith Oh, wait, who's the video of on the Språkspelet website (round 101?) thing then?
Arief Wibowo Christian James Meredith, I thought "Viktator" is only to be said when they win a round
I am looking for a nice icon from Silk to put beside their names on the Språkspelers table (not award/medal icons though, I have plans for them)... Any suggestions?

Arief Wibowo On round 101, ladies and gentlemen, would be Språkspeler Vincensiu Denis.
I stjälcuri the video from his YouTube channel, subbed it, converted to 5 different formats, and uploaded to our website in 30 minutes
(1st experience -- now it shall take less time)

Marius Vincenzii Dennischter will try again, gimme 15 min, if unsuccessful, I'll go the traditional way
Arief Wibowo Christian James Meredith, Round 101 is the Auslan round
Sorting the rounds (by anything) is now fixed, thanks for noticing the bug.
The line chart looks like stalagmites, don't you think?
Vincensiu Denis, alrighty

Arief Wibowo (an update for Språkspelers who are eagerly waiting for Vincensiu Denis' round, I am working with him to solve the issue... We WILL have Auslan, people! )
Arief Wibowo (Christian James Meredith, now do you see something that Språkspeler Sarah Karoline saw not long ago? )
