Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Since I had a pretty harsh time here. Let me bring out something difficult;
Muka buruk, cermin dibelah.
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith I can attempt everything up to "belah".
An ugly face, mirror (something in the passive)
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Apparently the "world's largest online Indonesian dictionary" doesn't have "belah", so much for that boastful marketing slogan :P
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith So I'm just gonna guess:
"An ugly face, mirror gets cracked" for the literal sense, and the figurative sense... Don't be ugly or you'll break mirrors? :D
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter wow.... so fast!
well the literal meaning is: ugly face, mirror cut (cut as in past tense verb)
belah means cut as in cutting a big spherical things (e.g. watermelon) into half
well I do believe it sounds better if the wording if you use the word "crack" muka buruk, cermin diretak

well done, but your interpretation is still incorrect
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Doh! And "belah" might make more sense I guess from a historical perspective, since I guess current mirrors are pretty new fangled with all that glass and whatnot.

Hmmm, maybe something like "Act badly, and see your beautiful world fall apart"? IDK.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter nope.
hint: a lady went to check herself in the mirror, and found out that she's ugly, upset she punched and shattered the mirror.
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Hmm, something like "don't shoot the messenger"?
"The truth hurts"?
"Don't do what you can't handle"?
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström "Deal with it?"
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Dont shoot the messenger. Thats it!!
Dont break the mirror just because you saw yourself ugly.
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven Should we maybe create a part II thread? This thread's becoming a bit unwieldy to scroll through when you want to find something :P
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Perhaps :P
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural So who got the point now? :D
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Apparently me, but I'm still thinking of a new phrase :P
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural OK! I believe that you can post a new thread. ;)
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven What should we call it? Malin's word game? Maybe add the rules at the top, specifying what's allowed (dictionarying, grammar bookings, picture searches, wikipedia articles, etc) and what's not (google translate, babelfish, bing?… etc).

Yes/No?
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural Billy is right. ;)
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Yes from me
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Malin gave it a name already. Give me a se
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith *sec
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven Christian James Meredith, scroll-wheel scholar? ;) Good luck finding it. xD We're so near to almost a thousand posts here.
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith "Språkspelet" was the name she christened it (around the 500 post mark)
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Yeah I accidentally clicked "show more posts" too much and hit someone's name, and then when I pressed back I had to start again :D
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven But that's Swedish, are we OK with a Swedish name? Literally it means "the language game".

Personally, I feel like there should be some attribution to the starter of the game :P

Språkspelet (AKA Malin's word game?), mayhaps?
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström Why not Sprogspelet, so everyone can write it?
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural Victor, is that nynorsk? :)
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven Because voiced velars are evil boogey-men that come after your voiceless sibilants? :o
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Ah that's right, sprogspelet, I forgot that Danification :P
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural
Ahmet Yılmaz Vural Upps, dansk. Beklager. :)
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Speakspell :P
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström
Victor Wåhlstrand Skärström I like voiced velars... :(
