Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter So guys I wish you all a Wonderful, Joyful and Merry Christmas!!
Hopefully you all have a good time with family, friends, yourself and whoever you spend your Christmas with.
And since I won the last round, let me serve you some Christmas themed round ;)

Since we already had a super hard round, let's make it short, simple and easy :)

Sú Vianoce, ale tu je teplo a nesneži. Ale stále som rád.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter I'm going to have a nap, so sorry if I'm a bit slow in replying later on.
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo First impression:
I see "stále" :D

Second impression:
[Sú] Christmas, but there's heat and [nesneži].
[Ale] [stále] [som] [rád].

Third impression:
I had to refer to Czech, Serbo-Croatian, and Slovak entries on Wiktionary for those...

And Wiktionary suggests "neonazi" for "nesneži" :P
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson Christmas is cold, but inside there is heat and neonazis :P
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I think this is Slovak, based on "sú" which is the 3rd person plural of "to be". The problem is "sú".
*They are* Christmas. Here there is heat and it isn't snowing. But I still love it!
---
Rephrase:
It is Christmas. Here there is warmth and it isn't snowing, but I still love it!
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Slovak Dictionary: http://slovnik.azet.sk/slovensko-anglicky/ Czech Dictionary: http://www.wordreference.com/encz/
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo Ne-sneži, I should have seen that...
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline It's easy to forget "ne" is attached to verbs in the language of the Ancient World. I scanned a textbook before offering a translation of the text :) :) [Of course it could be "ne" + noun.
I'm wondering about "sú Vianoce". They are + Christmas.
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo According to Sarah Karoline's dictionary:

→ are
→ are being
→ There are

I therefore propose: (here) are Christmas
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo By the way:
sú obavy
→ it is feared
(still from same dictionary)

I wonder if I can just replace obavy with Vianoce/Christmas
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I think there's an error in that dictionary as "(to) je" =" it is" and "tu je" = "here is".
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Sarah Karoline, NSIH, need a bit of tweaking.
According to my source, rad shouldn't be "love". Also let's make it a bit more natural
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson It is christmas but it is warm and isn't snowing. But I love it anyways!
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson, I don't like the word "love"
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson It is christmas, but it is warm and it isn't snowing. But I enjoy it anyways
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo A ha, Wiktionary says it's "glad"
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson It is christmas, and even though it is warm and it isn't snowing, I am glad anyways.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Glad is acceptable, but anyways...
hmmmm..... :S
sorry I'm a bit fussy this Christmas :p
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo Vincensiu Dionisiu, you've successfully implemented a fuzzy logic? :P
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzy_logic
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I was thinking of "mám te rád" - "I love you" (in my textbook). I see in the glossary "rad" can also mean "glad". Hm.. :)
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter sorry if I made a bit ambiguous in the comment above, what I meant was:

"GLAD" is acceptable, but "ANYWAYS" could have a better alternative, which Sarah has translated it perfectly well before :)
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson Oh!
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson It is christmas, and even though it is warm and it isn't snowing, I am still glad.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Mikkel you make things complicated :(
Why change the first sentence again? It was perfecr!
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson Did I change it? I'm pretty sure it's the same as I said before :/
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter I don't normally "like" the phrase that I don't like ;)
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson Oh, I changed it previously *doh* It is christmas, but it is warm and it isn't snowing. But I still enjoy it.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo <cough>Vincensiu Dionisiu is stuck in hot wales :P </cough>
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter It is christmas, but it is warm and it isn't snowing. But I'm still GLAD/ Happy.
I gotta go back to sleep guys, see you in few hours :)
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Phone rang. Sorry for the delay..... and now I see Mikkel has won!
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Arief, It's not hot, it's raining, just like every other Christmas days in the past.
Mikkel, your turn for new round ;)
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson I have to get off to Yule lunch, but I'll post the next round when I get back
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo Is it just my machine eyes or I'm seeing HTML <br> tags in Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson's Japanese comment??

Congratulations, Mikkel :)
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Mikkel
