Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Huzzah :D. Well, since it's the end of the month and I feel a bit bad about the Maltese pronominal saga, here's something a bit less evil from me for the next challenge:

Ti rapinses tu co di l' osté passé ?
Nos t' vinîs vèyî deus feyes li saminne.
Binamé ptit banc, louke, rin k' d' î tûzer,
Dji sin k' dji fruzihe, et dji rveû Madlinne.

Awè, djel riveû, et c' est la m' måleûr
N' è pôrè-dj' don måy aswadjî m' pinsêye ?
Sovnance ki m' fêt må, ca por mi l' boneûr
N' est pus k' on bê sondje, ine douce djôye passêye.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I thought I would add the translation of the round that was not, in order to promote this language of the north.

*Liabi Gruass us dr Insel!
----
Don't put the bowl and the stand there. Put them on the table here instead. Now sit up and eat your hotdog. "Pølsen", you mean?" "No, it's a hotdog"
----
No stands were harmed during the writing of this exercise. I hope you don't feel angry with me.
Greetings from the Island of Rain
----
* This line is from the dialect spoken in Igis, Switzerland. The rest of the text was "ställifying" Swedish.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Andy Complex, evil rounds are welcomed and are becoming tradition... :)
That looks multilingual...
Edmund Yong
Edmund Yong it doesn't look multilingual to me.

Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Yay, thanks for the translation of the last round. That means that I did manage to crack it in the end, or almost :D.

Despite appearances, I can confirm that this is a monolingual round this time around - the absence of my feline friend, Alan, has led to a momentary reduction in my evilness, but I'm sure it will rise again next month ;)
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline It was just "sit" rather than "stand". Just one little word can cause chaos....
Alan's living it up in Ragnakarta at the Hall of Valhallamedan.
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres I'm glad he's doing well, but I miss that sublimely devilish cat! On another note, I just noticed that I have become a resident now with this round :D.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline He's stepped over to the dark side and is committing a bit of arson in the Forest of Javaholm. He'll no doubt return to being less evil..

I shall attempt a translation of a round that looks Albanian, Romanian and French to me... I guess I'm sleep-deprived!
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Arboreal arson? Delightful! :)

One of the three languages that you've mentioned will help you out a lot this round, Sarah :D.
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson I'd wager that's not french
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres The language in the text is neither French, Albanian or Romanian, but one of the languages Sarah mentioned will help decipher the text's meaning :)
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson
Mikkel Ramzuiv Pittmann Wilson Well then, I'd wager it's closestly related to French
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Yes, it is a Gallo-Romance language.
Occitan?
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Good guess, Дайте, but it's not Occitan.
Thought so. The å was a bit off.
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Yes, the å will be helpful in identifying the language ;)
Walloon, then, since it doesn't look Provençal.
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Correct!
Alright, I'm off to do some research. Be back in 15 min or so.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I thought it was Old French...
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Walloon does have some linguistic traits that survived from Old French and dropped out of modern French :)
First draught:

"Do you still remember last summer
We would come to see you twice a week
Dear little bench, see, just by thinking about it
I feel like trembling/thrilled, and I see Madlinne again
Yes, I see her again, and there is my misery
Will I ever be able to ease/lift my spirit/mind?
Remembering hurts, because for me happiness
Is more than a beautiful dream, a sweet, past joy [or "a sweet joy that passes soon]".
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres Impressive first draft! Here's the review:

Do you still remember last summer
We would come to see you twice a week
Dear little bench; see, just by thinking about it
I feel {like trembling} [thrilled], and I see Madlinne again
Yes, I see her again, and there is my misery
Will I ever be able to ease my mind?
Remembering hurts, because for me happiness
Is ... more than a beautiful dream, a sweet, past joy"

[] - incorrect, {} - close, ... - missing a word/words, everything else = correct. Edit: about it is correct.
Do you still remember last summer
We would come to see you twice a week
Dear little bench; see, just by thinking about it
I feel like shivering/quivering, and I see Madlinne again
Yes, I see her again, and there is my misery
Will I ever be able to ease my mind?
Remembering hurts, because for me happiness
Is nothing more than a beautiful dream, a sweet, past joy".

"Fruzihe" is bothering me. It's the equivalent of French "frémir", isn't it?
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres You've got it, Дайте :). Congratulations! Fruzihe could indeed be translated as frémir. I believe it derives from the same root as Fr. frissonner :).
Andy Ayres
Andy Ayres My translation:

Do you still remember last summer?
We came to see you twice a week.
Dear little bench, look; just thinking about it,
I feel myself quiver, and I see Madeleine again.
Yes, I see her again; and therein lies my unhappiness.
Could I never, thus, ease my mind?
Remembering hurts, because for me, happiness
Is no more than a beautiful dream, a sweet, past joy.

Or, conserving rhyme but rather less literally:

Last summer, do you still remember it?
We always came to see you twice a week.
My cherished bench, I fall into a fit
Of trembling thinking of you, and I seek

In my mind memories of Madeleine,
And it dejects me; can my mind not last
A day without reliving all its pain?
Our joy's a wilted flower of the past.
Five minutes and I'm ready to give you the next round. I want to try something new, but it's better if I keep a spare sentence in case the first proves itself too Victor-ish for the thread's life.
