Round 173

Round
<< 1< 172174 >282 >>
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Squire TRelawney, Doktor Livesy und die anderen Herren hatten mich aufgefordert, die ganze Geschichte von der Schatzinsel bis zum Ende niederzuschreiben.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Actually, I just saw the time, and I have to get to bed. Sorry, can I hold this one over????
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline The game can continue whilst you sleep. When you return, you can comment on the translations that have been given. :)
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent baiklah!!
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Sarah, too easy for you??
Geschichte - history??
I'm at work and it is really difficult to look up words from this galaxy, so I shall return in 6 hours.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent history or story.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter And I can't even tag Davide/ Mateo etc from here :$
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Hello! Sorry, I will have to sit this one out, as I can translate it quickly. I'm not receiving any notifications, incidentally. I saw these two posts by pure chance!

On behalf of Vincensiu I hereby tag Дайте, Matteo Arief
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline I had a feeling that Billy and Victor can do this text, so I didn't tag them.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Sorry it is such an easy one. It is my first time....
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline It's only "easy" to those who know German, but not everyone knows German. It is often the case that a text will be in a language known by 99% of the players, leaving only one or two people to translate alone. Vincensiu has mastered several games alone!
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent German?!?!?! oops, I thought I grabbed a Chinese book.... (Yes, I am joking. if I had grabbed any of my Chinese books the language level would be about "Hello, I am David. I am from Australia. I am studying. I study language.")
Nicolás Straccia
Nicolás Straccia Man, I'm tempted, but I'm gonna opt out of this round ^^
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith We almost have 2 little language communities here - the Germanicists and the Malayists :P (The Germanicists tend to do too well with some Germanic language rounds, while the Malayists have practically established Indonesian as the second language of this game :D )

And I sit between them.

And then there's the Japanese rounds, which even for Japanese speakers ranges from super hard to super easy :P (depending on the ambiguity level).
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Saya momong Bahsa Jerman! Und ich spreche auch ein Bischen Indonesiche.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Saya juga memelajari (???) Bahasa Cina, tetapi, dengan bahasa ini, saya belum baik.
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Hahaha Sarah, Im flatterred. I don't speak Germanic languages (except English) so this round is far from easy for me. As I said, I'll look into it once I got home.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent What??? English is a Germanic language? (mwahahah.... wrong thread...)
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Adrian Baxt-Dent, easy for someone might b hard for the others :)
That's absolutely Ok if the round is easy anyway, we have had too much difficult round recently that lasted for days!!
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent I was thinking easy in terms of... it is a modern, in use language, in straight prose, whereas I was TRYING to find something from an older, "not on the internet" language, in poetic language. I don;t even know if I still have that book though....
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Lol or probably I'm the one who failed lol...
I didn't master those rounds. It is just a combination of luck + stjälcuri + research due to my irritability of seeing a round that hasn't been solved after a week.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Something like this: A cook they hadde with hem for the nones
To boille the chiknes with the marybones,
And poudre-marchant tart and galyngale.
Wel koude he knowe a draughte of londoun ale.
Justyna Rojek
Justyna Rojek Heir Trelawney, doctor Livesy and the other men (had?) prompted me that the whole story of the Treasure Island was (to/until the end literally; entirely- I don't know if I should write it, if there's 'the whole' already written?)unbelievable (?) niederzumschreiben is sth like 'wrong written'... it doesn't make sense to me...
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven You were right, Sarah Karoline, :P

Also, niederzuschreiben = detachable German verb, ergo "down to write" = "to write down".

It's okay to have easy/short rounds. The original game is that :P
Justyna Rojek
Justyna Rojek so ' […] the whole story of the Treasure Island was written down'?
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith The original round was beautiful.
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Shit, we need some more 1-2 word rounds! Speed rounds! EXTREME!
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Christian Ja! Billy Unusually right! :)
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Ja = Esperanto "surely", yes? I don't know of a "ja" in any other language! :O
Justyna Rojek
Justyna Rojek in German and Norwegian it means 'yes' ;)
And in Polish it's 'I'.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline [New answer: Já :)], Christian
Incidentally, I haven't learned any Esperanto....[insert "shocked" emoticon]
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith Justyna (who probably hasn't seen my normal silliness), Sarah (who's jetlagged?), I (who's exhausted from the heat wave) am joking :D
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith But thank you for responding earnestly :)
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline In ernst I am indeed jetlegged and cannot distinguish fact from obvious humour. I may need to delete my answer..... :)
It's 31 degrees warmer today than it was yesterday....
Justyna Rojek
Justyna Rojek Christian, I'm new, don't know everybody yet :P
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter @CJM : really? Still awake?? My God, the heat must be so bad!!
Justyna take a look at the sprogspelet website :)
In the "sprogspellers" page you can see the list of all of the players and who has won the most round. Guess who's that person?? ;)
Also Adrian in the "round" page, you can see various rounds that has been played and some of them are really simple :)
Sarah Oh, 19 hours by plane, I thought you sailed across Viking ocean with the boat in your congratulation card :P
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Finally I'm home, I got more media access :)
And Adrian, here's your congratulation card :D
But now I'm tired and sleepy :(
Maybe I'll give it a go later, unless someone else does it before I wake up.
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку "Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and the other women have asked me to write the whole story/history of the treasure island to the end."
Billy James Brightraven
Billy James Brightraven Herren
> women

Hmm, something is off.
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Herons! :)
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку *men
It got overlapped with another translation, sorry.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Do I have to wait for the whole text? or can I award it to Dante as he provided a correction for his last one.
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent p.s., moderate amusement at the mis translation of niederZUMschreiben. :P
Nicolás Straccia
Nicolás Straccia I think he should provide the whole text, but it would be corteous to let him resubmit the text, since he finnished it and corrected himself (stjälcuri at this point would be not honorable, or at least shameful, I think).
Arief Wibowo
Arief Wibowo (belated) Welcome to the game and congratulations on your first win, Adrian Baxt-Dent :)

And yes, we should wait for Дайте Нефть Из Баку's full text :)
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith As soon as it's heavily implied someone is considered the winner I guess stjälcuri becomes bad :P
Christian James Meredith
Christian James Meredith (Honour amongst thieves)
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку "Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and the other men have asked me to write the whole story of the treasure island to the end."
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent If I was being really pedantic, I would insist on a revision of the tense...
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent particularly (or in fact, only) the "have asked."
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent although......
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent hmmmm.....
Adrian Baxt-Dent
Adrian Baxt-Dent Yeah, that'l doit!
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку "Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey and the other men had asked me to write the whole story of the treasure island to the end."
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter Next round, Dave?
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline Дайте
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку I can't decide between two. Quickly: letter P or letter R?
Sarah Karoline
Sarah Karoline X? :)
Дайте Нефть Из Баку
Дайте Нефть Из Баку That's not an option, try again. :D
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter
Marius Vincenzii Dennischter P sounds like Piedmontese. R Sounds like Russian.

P. I choose you!!.
Oh right, I forgot my congratulation card!
